The first pretty I saw was Bungleweed, which were in a field nearby. They are a dense and aggressive groundcover with shiny leaves and only bloom on spikes at this time of year. Some folks use them in their landscapes.
I then rode past a wild lilac bush with its buds just starting to open.
Still looking for more colorful subjects I found these trees in blossom.
And to top off my short journey there were several red maples that stopped me in my track! WOW!

I hear birds singing but saw none, nor did I see any critters at all!
