Still at It - I'm All Over the Place

First the beans were weaned and are out on their own. It's now up to Mother Nature. I hope they will be able to climb the two very old trees. The sun shines there most of the day in the summertime.
Up in front of the old rock garden are left-over pipe pieces and one now has geraniums. I really wanted red but the garden center only had white left. It's fine.
I thought the new standby generator could use a little enhancement. For a while, anyway. Nothing exotic, just bright and cheery. Marigolds are always cheery!
The empty space in front by the porch step-up sports a pot of Osteospermum Pink Spider  blooms. They look a bit raggedy now but will perk up soon.
"Henry" has a just-started Regal Elegance Imperial Purple Magesty Geranium on his back.
This is what it should look like as time goes on - HOPEFULLY!
As for the lake activities, there is a guy fishing (hmmmm I don't see his boat sticker license and he is using an electric motor) and there is bridge and dam work started. Busy place here!
Now let's go inside the cabin. I simply can't resist showing you the beautiful fresh eggs that our daughter brought over.
And last and least, I've made 3 gift card envelopes and expect to create more soon. EASY!

Jumping Around Like a Crazy Woman

IF I could jump that is what you would say because there is no method in my madness!  First it was getting my little Portulaca into pots. That meant lots of bending and digging into the bucket of potting soil.
Then I had the "separation" talk with my baby beans and told them that they would be leaving the nest in a day or two. They are getting out of hand when they grow indoors.

There are SIX family member birthdays in May and I created cards. My firstborn turns 60! Wow I must be getting old, you think?

My daughter brought me a tiny bouquet of her bleeding hearts and I put them in a very small shot glass, I never knew she had white ones! SO SWEET! (She will be 56!)
I took a walk up into the old "Rock Garden" that once upon a long time ago was a wonderful place as Mother had planted various and sometimes unusual varieties. Now most of those are gone and currently the Chives and Tansy have taken over just as soon as the Daffodils finished showing off their yellow beauty.  Oh my aching back!
The old birdhouse might be in use. It's too high to see into it and it hasn't been cleaned out in many years. (It doesn't come apart!) The design was poor, wasn't it?
Several years ago I threw some wildflower mix seeds into the garden area and today there is a white bloom. It isn't a Queen Ann's Lace and I think it is Yarrow. Or...maybe it is a survivor of Mother's plantings.
Perhaps I'll get to show you my big black tub flower, Henry's bouquet, some large Marigolds and Beans plus more papercraft soon. Gotta get those beans OUT! I think I'm on SC withdrawal -  beach and pool no more in May and June. I am here and I love it here.

My Perspective

Today something a bit odd struck me and I wonder who else would see it right away. I was reading a book that was given to me via delivery from my daughter from a friend of hers. I have been reading it for a couple of weeks and really learned a greater understanding about Galileo and his trials and tribulations through his lifetime of discoveries and the difficulty conveying them to others. Had I gone to the library I probably wouldn't have selected this book to read.

As I was in the Mister's recliner, trying to keep my feet up more, I had him toss me a pillow to rest under the book, which was heavy and large, to have it placed better for reading. He took the pillow  that was given to me by a fellow office worker when I was preparing to move from our larger home into the cabin on the lake. That was about twenty years ago.

Now to the meat of my story: What do YOU see when you look at this picture?
You will probably say, "A pillow and a book" and you would be correct. Do you see anything else?
You would reply, "I see stars and the sky, just like Galileo did," and you would be correct. Do you see anything else?
No? Well they I'll tell you what I saw and thought it was a nice correlation.

BOTH HAVE THE EXACT COLOR THEME! LOOK AGAIN! Greens, golds, browns. (besides the fact that the pillow has the stars and skies.)

In my first image you might even think that the top of the book was a part of the pillow!

Projects Progress

First of all there is my ongoing paper project. I ordered a scoring board from the internet as none of the shops in a 30 mile radius had one!  I went to Jo-Ann Fabrics and Crafts,  Michael's,  A.C. Moore and even Walmart. I hate paying shipping charges but had no other choice and just HAD to have it! I love this board! I helps me to make sharper creases and I have even made two gift envelopes in different sizes. I'm nowhere near finished with exploring more ideas.
After putting together a LARGE batch of beans and burger chili, which is in the crock pot as I write, I took my growing beans outdoors to harden. I will bring them in each night as it still is too cool to plant. Fourteen of the sixteen seeds that I planted have germinated. I refer to them as "My Babies."
Now my flower pots need to be seeded. The soil awaits.
My brother just brought me a supply of his Yukon Gold potatoes to use as he is getting ready to plant the sprouted ones in his garden. We love these yellow skinned, yellow fleshed delicious potatoes!

I'll be busy and am energized!

Dandy Day HD 720p

It started out with heavy winds and showers and ended up with some sun. I just love dandelions, so after a wonderful Bar-B-Que Chicken lunch we played outside. Phone calls, cards and love sent my way today and specially prepared meatballs delivered with a daughter's visit made the day very special.

Click on gear for 720 HD view
She grew them in SC in 2012 and we didn't know what they were. She grew them in 2013, 2014, 2015 I am trying to grow them now (2016) in PA. Mine might not grow to produce because of climate. They are sword beans. (see previous current posts)

Beans Grow FAST

We plan to have the cabin stained this month and the beans are growing so fast that I'm going to have to slow them down somehow or put them outside soon! More are even popping up! I was hoping to put "Henry" near a porch pillar so they would climb there. Now I just don't know.......

I fell in love with "Henry" the other day. Isn't he special?

Beans

They seem to be coming right along. THREE days ago they poked through the soil. More might pop up in a while. We have 8 so far and I planted 16. I hope to share a few. Today I bought "Henry." He will be the container in which these will be transplanted into, after more growth.
