High and Mighty Song

As I was riding on a back road this morning I heard a persistent birdsong. It drew my attention upward - WAY upward to a very high line above the electric and cable wires. There it sat singing. I have tried to get its photo for many a day, but it always flew away before I could even put my camera to my eye. I thought it was a Scarlet Tananger. NOPE! After a little research I realized it was a male Baltimore Oriole. The first two photos below are from the internet.
My photos don't show its white patches on the wings. It was WAY up there! But it didn't fly away either when it saw me and kept on singing. I was thrilled.

  1. Such a pretty bird and I love to hear it's song too. We had some around here, so I went to buy oranges and put out grape jelly in a dish, by the time I got it out they must have gone elsewhere. I left it out for over a week. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
