New Pretty Artwork

As you might remember, if you have been following me for a long time, my brother (82) does glasswork (among many other projects). It was a hobby at first for many years but these days he is seriously producing numerous different patterns and sizes. He comes to me with his examples for my opinion on his designs. A couple of days ago he brought over several large ones and I told him that I liked this one best. After thinking about it, I called him later to see if he would sell me the one I really admired. Yesterday he brought it to me. It measures about 5 inches in diameter. He is also creating others of smaller sizes.

I have taken photos of my new window hanger from several different angles and you can see how the pattern appears when the backgrounds are changed.

Early Visitors

These two travelers surprised me as they passed the cabin, walking on the road. I think they saw me seeing them through the window as they quickly moved on and crossed, going back into the woods. I was in a fog myself, just out of bed and pouring my coffee. Guess I was lucky to capture them at all!

Nature's Curtains

Weeping snow climbing down from the roof to cover our bathroom window. How can you not look out?

Winter Day

The sun is shining brightly. The lake is completely frozen. There are no ice fishermen in sight. The wind is blowing. Two joggers went by. Crazy fools! I see feral cat prints in the snow. I looked out the kitchen and dining room windows as I checked e-mail and caught a movement on the snow by the shed. She was all alone under the hemlock tree.  I couldn't find her mate anywhere. I wonder if her feet were cold. It's a good thing the windows are clean.

View from my Bed

This morning I opened my eyes and this is what I saw! I know it is time for the knockdown of these.

Who gets in bed with their camera? I do. Up I got, back I went, to save my last early morning views.

If you notice, these are taken through the inside window and the outside screen. We don't have a real storm window for this room, but the screen in its frame is covered in plastic. There! Whatever works - works!  I sure wished the sun had been shining, but it wasn't granted.

Now they are all knocked down and will be kept that way. Next year I'll enjoy some new ones.
