Bright vegetables freshly picked from local gardens are thrilling for me to have on my counter before I use them. Somehow, they tickle my senses of color and nature's bounty. When Brother stopped by yesterday he offered me more cucumbers, but I'm "cuked" out. I can't freeze them and don't can or make pickles anymore so we are satisfied for this year with cuke salads.

I'll probably turn the green peppers into yellow and/or red ones as they are sweeter. To do this, I'll put them in a brown paper bag with a banana, roll up the top and wait. It might take a couple of weeks, but we like them better. Also, these I can cut, blanch and freeze.
I could go for stuffed pepper 'bout now!
