It is Here!

Old Man WINTER arrived with a bang! Not much snow is covering the ground, but the cold and the blustery winds slipped in overnight. The cinder truck just drove by.  It was 10° when we crawled out of warm beds and is still under 20° at noon.  We intended to go to the laundromat this morning but changed plans. A few more items in the baskets won't make much of a different in load sizes. The Mister helps as it is difficult for me to carry the baskets.
For an unknown reason, I have no desire to bake anything. My knitting projects are finished for the moment. What can I get into now???? The Christmas cards are sent - some via e-mail, others via snail mail. The gifts to family were enclosed. A few gifts to friends were sent and received. I think I just might step outdoors and clean out the cobwebs that are lurking under my hair. I'll have a short conversation with James. Then perhaps I will be motivated to do something productive! I am ready to keep warm.

Socks, Meatloaf and Muffins

Yesterday I received my 3rd pair of homemade knitted wool socks from an amazing friend who lives in Canada. We met at the beach several years ago as they spent their winters there. We traded craft hobbies and activities and I really miss her and her husband. She's outdone herself this time with this beautiful pair!! I am really grateful.

I've been busy this morning. The three pound meatloaf is hot out of the oven. I love Big Red Workhorse that mixes it so well, saving me finger freeze!
The muffins are bran with golden raisins added. Of course we ate a couple to taste first and then I shared with a fellow who drives by every Tuesday morning.
These are tasty and I'll share the recipe upon request.

Waiting for Spring in PA

Well we have returned to this! The good news is that, though the back wall logs are damp, there is no water running on the floors. What a relief!

I was too busy in the short time we were "getting away from it all" and didn't take many pictures.

Sand dollars found on the beach by my friend, Shirley.

Iris were in full bloom when we left.

Hand knitted birthday socks from a friend, Mary, of Canada.

My new Crepe Myrtle cane made by Arnold, an 85 year old gentleman from TN.
