Photography Efforts

First of all, let me tell you that I have a Fuji Camera that I bought a few years ago at Walmart and it was under $160.00. I love it because it is simple. I am not now, nor ever have been a "professional photographer" but do like trying to take photos that are pleasing to my eye - and yours. I don't have a "smart phone" either, so what I have is what I use - no fancy lenses, no attachments, just a hobby.

Last year I submitted about 15 or 16 of my photos to our local TV station for a weekly slide show of photos from area residents. WNEP covers 20 counties in the northeast and upper regional area of Pennsylvania. The station receives around 100-150 submissions a week.

Much to my surprise, through 2019, I have had 12 of mine chosen to be part of the shows. THEN, just today, there was a review and 3 of mine were again featured. Talk about an ego pump... yes, I have one today.

I started submitting a couple once in a while several years ago, but only a few were ever used.

Here are today's selection. They are my screen shots from the 2020 January 4 lookback shows. Parts 1 through 3 were gardening, crafts, and foods.

I had a Snapfish soft cover small photo album made of the 12 that were used in 2019. Just a memento from me to me. 

As you can see, the change of seasons thrills my eye!

Awful Cold and Awful Fire

I think we're stuck at -8°! This was at 7AM. At least the sun is shining earlier!

We went grocery shopping and when we returned it was still below zero, but now, late afternoon it is all the way up to +19° so there is hope for a warmup.

Last night in this freezing weather a local family- owned Italian restaurant and pizzeria burned. A local photographer took fine pictures of this dramatic happening and put them on Facebook. I won't snatch any of her photos but hope you may see them by clicking on her FB link and then scroll down to the 42 shots that tell the awful story of the fire. This is an old town with old buildings and it is a great loss.

Plowing Through...

...stacks and stacks of loose snapshots and portraits to organize and fill and label in old-style blank albums. I needed to divert for a bit today. The difficulty lies in the fact that I get materials out and start to work when it becomes time to clear it all out for lunch. Then I get back to my work and have to clear out for supper. It is difficult and annoying but there is no other place besides the dining room table to continue without interruptions.

The lake has totally thawed and now is sporting a skim of ice. Many Canada geese and various species of other waterfowl have returned - already! The winter that never really was! I want to finish this project and be free again!

THE END - of Note Card Creations

I've decided to move on to other creative projects. These last ones were a "have-to" because I had already printed out all of my photographs for just this purpose.  I have scanned 137 and photographed the 45 that I made when in South Carolina because I had no scanner. Yes, 182 is a nice number and I'm sticking with it! That is the total of all I have made since 2010. They are all gone except for the last 32. 

Here are scans of the last 10 - All 32 that I made in the past three days will be sold in March when I head to SC again and then I will have only memories.
