Danger, Damage and Drama - Dream

I have never considered myself to be a drama queen, but in my dreams I sure am. I’m one of those people who not only dreams every night I remember my dreams in the morning - well most of the time, anyway. I usually give the Mister highlights of these just in case one might really mean something someday. Way back in my past I have some that did. Really.

I take a daily nap and don’t dream then — at least never have remembered any before today! Well this was a doozy and I must tell somebody! You, my readers are chosen. It was frustrating, sad, exciting, annoying, and more. In spite of it I had a good long nap! WOW what a DREAM!  Go on that ride with me now.

The first thing I remember is my brother backing a large flatbed trailer into our shed. The contents were covered by a black tarp which was full of protruding lumps. Next he came into the cabin and all of a sudden there were kids racing across the dam road in cars, twisting and turning. One girl lost control and drove right into the lake in her small white car. She climbed out, swam to the edge and walked up the bank and into the cabin - soaking wet. I was annoyed because of all of the oil and gasoline that was now in the lake, causing pollution. At that time I was sitting on the porch in the swing with my lifelong deceased girlfriend’s son. He had his arm around my shoulder and was trying to console me about the lake. The next thing I knew there were other youngsters, older teens both boys and girls, all over inside the cabin just chatting away and nosing around everywhere. They were snooping in my refrigerator and bedroom, making themselves comfortable on the living room furniture and munching and slurping on whatever they found. I went into the bathroom and found that the toilet paper was all gone and there were paper towels in the wastebasket. The rugs were askew and my worst thought was that they might have used paper towel and put it into the toilet! (I always have a lot of TP rolls on hand in real life.) The medicine cabinet was left open so I know someone was looking for the kind of meds that we never have anyway. The lights were left on.

There was a fist fight out in the driveway between a couple of boys and one was ostracized away by the others so he just walked down the road and disappeared. Let me tell you the girl’s screeching and yelling during the scramble was ear piercing!  When I came back indoors the kids were removing the screens on the cabin windows and opening those old swing-in windows wide. Of course, bugs were coming in to the odor of all of the food being a prominent lure for them. I became furious in feeling but I never said a word of correction. After they left — on their own accord, I had a big cleanup. Remember this was a dream. It was a noisy, intrusive event and I  never ever want to think of experiencing something like it when awake!

What did it mean? Well I really don’t care and don’t want to analyze it, but absolutely do not want to dream at naptime again.

By the way, I always dream in full color plus all other senses.

Bizarre Happening

Strange…This happened before the snowstorm arrived.

Last night, after going to bed and having a vivid dream that one of the equipment shed doors was left open, the Mister got up and looked out the back door to see that the doors to that shed were closed. The dream was so very real that he was shocked to find them both closed. Then…he looked at the water pump shed and discovered that the light inside that is aimed on the pump pressure valve had gone out! This light is to keep the pressure valve from freezing. He checks it every evening when temperatures are near freezing, before going to bed. It is important!  (A red tail-light lens is attached to the side over a hole and shows if the light is on or off.) Action needed: back in - get dressed - back out and replace faulty bulb.
(Old photos above)
The bulbs we have to use now are not efficient or long lasting for our purpose as those were in the past, and cost more as well. A heat bulb would be too hot, but an incandescent floodlight bulb has worked for over 20 years here and stayed lit for all winter! These new types burn out quickly. One lasted 3 weeks, and the last one lasted 5 weeks. We keep a supply now, meaning more than one replacement.

Today’s bulbs come two to a pack and cost about $28.00 It is better than having the pressure valve freeze, but they have to be monitored constantly, meaning every single night when temperatures are near or below freezing.

In the product description on line I read:
Life in Hours: 1500 hrs [= 62 days.]  We never got 62 days from one burning 24/7.

Good thing he dreamed about the equipment shed door being open, eh? A friend said she would be very thankful for that surreal dream that helped him realize that he still had work to do before his day could come to an end.

Output Thoughts

My  niece, who is a veterinarian, lives in Harrington Delaware is currently settling into her recently acquired ten acre farm. Since she was a very young girl, she has had dreams of having her own horse farm. It is a dream that has come true. She is taking root and establishing her life at the early age of forty. This very busy woman is a partner in an equine clinic in Dover Delaware and has been with the practice since June, 1999.

It might interest you to know that the "farmette" consists of ten acres, three pastures, two run-in sheds, a two horse barn, and a horse trailer. To date the other residents are two horses, two cats, a dog and a significant other. At the end of a long driveway there is privacy and a lovely home. They all are "living the dream."

I understand that the farm is being called Pipedream Farm. She probably never thought that it would come true. Well it did! Somehow this name seems "off" to me because I always thought that a pipe dream was an unrealistic hope... a fantasy...wishful thinking. When it does come true it is no longer a pipedream. Well, that is only my critical thinking, BUT my mind has conjured up so many other names for her farm that I'm compelled to at least make my list. (I'm always making lists!) This will not be shared with her, however.

Forelegs Farm
Forefoot Farm
Fourlegs Farm
Four Feet Retreat
Footbeat Retreat
Sweet Retreat
Neat Retreat
Reality Farm
Peppertree Farm
Gumption Junction

I'm impatiently waiting for photos of her dream farm to arrive.
