Final Apple Projects

I AM APPLED OUT!! OUT!  (Except I still have to find some hair for Applehead Angie.)

I made my last batch of applesauce today and you can see that I've run out of containers. I really like the 8 oz. Ziploc ones but couldn't find more in the grocery stores I visited this year. When I share those with others I usually ask to have them returned.

So, this is IT~no more apple projects for a while, but remember I have dried slices and they make great pies.

Angie Applehead will be more beautiful when she gets her hair. I was going to use milkweed silk but haven't been back to the area where it grows since it has rained so much. Maybe jute twine will do. Maybe I'll change my mind and make her a hat! We shall see..... I made her eyes out of pebbles that I painted with permanent markers and covered with clear nail polish. She likes them.

I remember the day she was created. Never gave me an ounce of trouble.

Apple Projects #8 & #9

Today on the menu you have a choice. Will it be #8 the Apple Crisp, or will it be #9 the Apple Pie? Both are sweet, juicy and De-licious!

No topping necessary...

This and That

Carved an apple and it is drying. An applehead it will be.     (Actual untouched photo!)

Cut sourdough bread slices that were getting dry. Perhaps I'll make garlic and oil croutons for salad  or a small bread pudding. Currently they rest on the propane stove which is now heating the cabin. 

I created a flying horse to go over my autumn road photo.

He was traveling to a nearby path that was much used by a friend in the past. Her photo was used. She told me that another rider's horse that looked like this one could jump those stone fences without hesitation. It's name was Red Fox and this is his ghost.

Creative Flow

 Well, I will now move on to other things. My creative juices have stopped flowing and I’m bored. 

First it was Annie Applehead, then I started to make her a partner, Andy Applehead. As he dried his large teeth stayed large and he began to look awful. He was slow-dried for five days in the oven to cut the time from three weeks to less than one.  He matured into becoming Angie Applehead. 

Pucker up!!

While Andy was changing I made another corn kernel necklace and incorporated a wired shaped eight with corn to use as its pendant. The threading was tricky trial and error to have it fit and hang “just right.”

I haven't made one of these for YEARS!  It's always fun to see how they turn out! I was too lazy to make her a hat and dress. I plan to make Andy Applehead soon to be her partner. I have returned to being a child again. They say it happens to old people who are young at heart! Sorry to post so many but I JUST COULDN'T DECIDE WHICH I LIKED BEST. They say that happens to old people too.
