Buggy Rideabout

'Tis the season for Queen Ann's Lace and Goldenrod, Thistles, wild Rose of Sharon and Trumpet Vine. As I cruised around the lake on the bumpy and dusty dirt road, I saw this bird on lookout duty!

The old tree promises not to fall on the home of a long-time resident this coming winter.
A variety of colors always grab my eye for a picture!

Through the Haze

I thought I wouldn't go for a buggy ride today but it is warm and enticed me to get off my chair and take a short cruise. I noticed a lot of the little Birdsfoot Trefoil clusters everywhere along the sides of all the roads I traveled. Each wildflower has its turn to bloom. I snatched a few for a tiny bouquet of the little yellows. And yes, I''m rooting more spearmint.

The three images below are from the internet et.
There is another yellow flower that I have on my list to find. It was one of my mother's favorites and I remember it because of its catchy name. She always called it "scrambled eggs" and indeed that is what it is! The description is from Wikipedia: Corydalis aurea (scrambled eggs, golden smoke, golden corydalis) is a flowering plant in the poppy family, native to North America.
Just checked on the Blue Spruce at the neighbor lake to see if the wild sweet pea is overtaking it. I don't think so as both are looking quite bright and beautiful. I have been watching this for several years now and wondering which will win - the tree or the plant.
When heading back home I see the bindweed are blooming everywhere. They sure do take over some areas!

Flower Run

I took a short buggy ride because I didn't want to get "dusted" when a car, or worse yet, a truck passes. Along the way I see that first blooms are dying and new ones are showing their beauty. I sure do like seeing these. A quick in and out was the plan today. They are without identification. I know most but not feeling it is as important as the colors.

My heritage purple iris are either toppled over or coming out late. I'll try to get a photo of at least one! None here today.
New kid on the block . . .
If I'm up to it tomorrow, I may buggy-wander over to the neighbor lake and see what's up and pretty there!

More Colors

Another buggy ride and I'm really enjoying being out but still have to wear a jacket! Let's start with Bee Balm/Wild Bergamot.

Mix in with some daisies!
Now add some light pink columbine!
Add to the columbine some other pink flowers...
And now find a stalk of dark pink columbine!
While we're in the pink section see the rhododendron.
Watch out for the wasp!
White clover is just around the corner.
And the buttercups dance with the ferns and hay.
White roses start out as pinkish buds!
And carry a hint of the hue.....
Speaking of roses, how about little yellow ones?
Today we end our colorful trip with orange meadow lillies.
