Wet!

And my yard guy took these below. He said a neighbor up the road had more damage than this.
The main large drain is completely plugged AGAIN!
They didn't clean it out yet. There are other areas that need help first.
Here it is after cleaning from the first washout on July 8.
A small drain that the Mister and two others built many years ago runs under the road down to the edge of the bank is partially open. See video.
Mother Nature is ruling these few months!

Walk on By....

I never know what I'll see when gazing up from the computer and looking out my windows! This was a surprise and a delight for me today.

Looking Out...

Nasty, raw day! 40°. After being the "squeaky wheel" trying to get the Township Supervisors to send someone out to clean up the dirt clogs left on our lawn after winter plowing I saw them working! After stepping outside on the porch to thank them for coming, I recognized the younger fellow as the snow plow driver who caused the problem. He told me that they would probably come back again when there were more workers available to build up the ditches along the property. Their staff is cut down to only these two workers!

The window at the end of the cabin has three parts: inside panes, outside storm glass, and between both - screen! Poor James! I cut off his nose!

Missy's Washout 2018

This video shows some of the terrible damage that was done during the storms that washed out so many properties in our area. Our daughter lives across town from us and they now have a lot of work ahead. Others in the area were victims of worse devastation but it all is serious and sad.

She, family members and friends were able to take many but I just picked a few to tell her story.

August 2018 Cleanup 2nd Version

I am still learning and experimenting with newer system changes for slide shows and movies. This one shows the entire images and uses no Ken Burns effect of images moving in and out to viewer. That effect cuts of some top and bottom parts of original image.

A Dry Day!

At last I can take a ride to see the changes since the biggest wash. The arrow points to the large basin nearest our place.
The next shots are the "cleanout" of the next one up the road.
Our neighbors still have work ahead.
 This is kind of pretty!
OH! He flew to the upper end...
And I caught him again on the backside of the dam....
 The spillway runs well
Home again - notice all the GREEN

4 minute movie of the mess in action

Rough Rainy Night and Clear now.

The water was RUSHING down behind our shed last evening and I took a few photos. Then this morning I snapped more. You will get the picture from the pictures!

There is a large pipe up the road being cleaned out by a hired excavator for a beachfront property owner.
