Ride-About and Around

In addition to my other camellia post, I found this bush today and it is producing the most beautiful and red flowers of all. They were only buds about eleven days ago. They are late bloomers due to being in the shade, I believe.

The Lily of the Valley look alike flowers are to be found throughout the park and they are big and beautiful - BUT - they have NO fragrance! NONE! We have a different variety in Pennsylvania. They were always my mother’s favorite and they were her father’s favorite and I love their aroma. Our Lily of the Valley are much much smaller but WOW! they give out a luscious and divine aroma whether growing wild or plucked and brought indoors. They are somewhat invasive, but their sweetness filling the air around them forgives all. I  know what these look alikes are called and they ARE pretty. They are Spring Snowflake- AKA Lleucojum.

The rocky cove was inhabited with an additional fellow this morning. The first one might be a lady and she is plain brown headed with a whitish chest. The new arrival is blond on top and brown chested. But! Again! they did nothing except preen for over an hour as I was waiting for action.

Yes! Spring IS Almost Here

It was a cold start to the day, but the strong March sun and a developing southerly wind, warmed us up nicely this afternoon.
The trees are budding. The birds are picking their partners to start families!!!

and...the surf is warming up. Yea!

Tiny Clams

Yes, I ate them and kept their shells for this craft. It could be a candle holder, or a napkin ring, but I have no more to make two napkin rings and can't burn candles due to the Mister's lung health.

I just created it - for something to do.

Oh Happy Day!

The closer I looked the prettier it became.

This is a weed! It was standing alone in an empty campsite and took my eye. I think it is a Yellow Rocket as we have them in Pennsylvania.

The rest of the day was spent just enjoying the sunshine, the beach and watching the ocean waves and shorebirds flying.  It was a marvelous and beautiful blue sky day and the wonder of it was overwhelming!

Nice Day For a Sunbath

This fellow just sat and preened his feathers for over an hour as I watched and he never walked or flew as I was hoping he would.

The sun is out and the buds are now popping. I know because the allergies have kicked up. It all seems to have happened overnight as the time was springing ahead.

The birds were singing - do you hear them?

Note Cards Continuation Part 3

Finished - for now. I have burned out my desire to make note cards. I still have 9 more to make and they are all of the beach umbrellas and beach scenery. They will wait. I wanted to get the flowers mounted. The tally stands at 35. OK. Now what? Well the weather is ‘supposed’ to turn nicer over the weekend and I need to get out. My mind is full of cobwebs that need to be blown away.

Maybe the Mister will be able to grill outdoors and I’m sure looking forward to it. Friends who have been in Florida for a while are stopping in to camp here on their way back to Pennsylvania. Well they may have to stay a while. The weather channel shows more potential for significant snow midweek. WHAT? Will it never end?

Spring! Spring! Where are you?

Note Cards Continuation Part 2

This is an easy way to upload to Picasa along with this blog. I know, I know, it isn't really a blog - so what! I'm still working on my cards until supplies run out. Six more today. Not much else to do when it is so nasty out and I don't feel like putting on shoes or dress to go anywhere anyway. Just bear with me - I'll write words of wisdom soon. Maybe.

The "Painted Dahlia" series is finished.
