Quite a mixture of shapes and color in this small clump of roses.

The Wood Sorrel occurs throughout most of the world, except for the polar areas. It has been consumed by humans around the world. In Dr. James Duke's "Handbook of Edible Weeds," he notes that the Kiowa Indian tribe chewed wood sorrel to alleviate thirst on long trips, that the Potawatomi Indians cooked it with sugar to make a dessert, the Algonquin Indians considered it an aphrodisiac, the Cherokee ate wood sorrel to alleviate mouth sores and a sore throat, and the Iroquois ate wood sorrel to help with cramps, fever and nausea.

I haven't tasted them yet!

My red wild berries have turned into blackberries.

Memorial Day 2015 HD

THE MEMORIAL DAY HOLIDAY IS NOT ALL ABOUT PICNICS AND PARTIES.

All of these individual American flags are displayed throughout the SC campground. I did not take pictures of those attached to homes, RVs, campers, trees, cars, golf carts, bicycles, or in yards.There were many.

We will see a Cardinal high up in the bush and a Mourning Dove pecking on the gravely path. 

Before we know it, the sun will be going down.

Agave Blooming part 2

I ride the golf cart "up there" to watch the progress of the Agave bloom. My first post was on May 13. I have hope that she will complete her process before we have to leave here. I really want to see the full story!

Dump It

First you get out your 9" x 12" cake pan and Pam it.

Next you dump one 20 oz. can of crushed pineapple, juice included, into the pan and spread to cover bottom.

Continue by dumping and spreading one 21 oz. can of cherry pie filling on top of the pineapple.

Now you need to sprinkle one box of dry yellow cake mix on fruits to cover.

Final step is to melt one cup of BUTTER and pour over it all.

It will look like the next two images before baking.

You may also now sprinkle nuts if you wish.

 After baking for 45 minutes in a 350° oven, cool on wire rack.
It will look like this after you remove a taste test portion.

Serve a bowlful to share with a dollop of vanilla ice cream or whipped topping.
